When the three Apollo 11 astronauts, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins returned to Earth, they spoke amicably with President Nixon. They didn't use the opportunity to criticize him or their country. They didn't use their ticker-tape parade to talk politics. The left the politicking to the politicians. They are still heroes to this day, unlike some clowns on a soccer team who will be forgotten before long.
I remember years ago there were advertisements in magazines and newspapers "buy the pen used by astronauts - the space pen". I don't know if it was the exact same one or not. It was supposed to be unbreakable, and it would write at any angle including upside down.
That pen cost a lot of money to produce so it would work in a zero gravity environment. There is another device that also will work in those conditions, a pencil
Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins three truly brave and daring adventurers. I'm glad I was alive to observe the moon mission ....the greatest endeavor of mankind.
Awesome use of resources in the ultimate survival situation!!
